The Four Phases of Organizational Data Development
Your organization is unique and will have unique data needs and metrics that are important to you. Because of this we chose the name Right Turn Analytics intentionally because we want to help your organization find the NEXT right turn based on your needs. To do this we developed the 4 phases of organizational data development. The application of these phases is unique to you and our conversations, but they are a useful framework for understanding your needs and how Right Turn Analytics can help.
Here are the 4 phases and how we can help you with each.
Knowing where you are
If you don’t know your data you don’t know your organization or business. We can help get you the baseline information for the key metrics that define success at your organization. First, in conversations with you, we define what is important to you and how it can be tracked. We also identify what data you have or how we can collect the data you need as well as where it should reside and be used.
Knowing where you want to go
Once you know where you are, your key performance indicators, and what data you have or will need access to, the next phase is a project and strategic planning that outlines how those metrics should develop over time and how they signal success. Based on where you are and the demands of your development we can help you set realistic goals and perform strategic communications related to those goals. This sets expectations for organizational leadership, stakeholders, and impacts communication with your community or market.
Knowing how you get there
Often organizations know what their key success metrics are, what data they have access to or will need, and they have clear vision for where they would like to go; however, whether it is because they don’t have the time, access to the necessary software, or the technical understanding organizations can have issues projecting and tracking their success into the future. Right Turn Analytics can free up your organization’s time as well as provide both technical and domain knowledge to help you set your course.
Knowing how and when to change course
In a perfect world, the first three phases would be all that is needed to propel your organization to success. Unfortunately, the data is descriptive of an ever-changing world and your organization and its vision will change with it. As such, one of the goals of ongoing tracking is to highlight the specific metrics or market signals that indicate when a change of course is necessary. Instead of feeling like your organization is performing in a chaotic environment, this approach helps you stay ahead of the change and your competitors.
